Qwik Pack & Ship Peekskill was created with a pretty simple idea in mind: people and businesses in this area should have a convenient local place to solve everyday shipping, packing, printing, and business-service problems.
Owner Jon Yanovsky came to the business after nearly three decades in marketing, business strategy, and consulting.
For most of his career, Jon helped other companies figure out what customers needed, simplify complicated problems, and turn ideas into working businesses.
Eventually, he decided it was time to build one of his own.
After exploring the purchase of several existing businesses, Jon became interested in the pack-and-ship industry and began studying the market more closely. He mapped shipping and business-service locations throughout the region and found what he believed was a significant gap close to home.
That led him to the shopping center on Welcher Avenue in Peekskill, just off Route 9 near McDonald’s.
Jon lives in Buchanan with his family, and his son attends school in the Hendrick Hudson district. So for him, Qwik Pack & Ship is not simply a business located in the area.
It is a business in his own community.
“I’m your neighbor” is more than a marketing phrase. Jon shops here, drives these roads, raises his family here, and wants the store to become a useful resource for the people and businesses around him.
That local connection also shapes the way the business operates.
Qwik Pack & Ship is independently owned, so customers aren't limited to a single shipping carrier. The team can look across multiple shipping options and help customers find the service that makes the most sense based on price, timing, and destination.
The store also provides professional packing, printing and large-format printing, mailbox services, notary services, passport photos, returns, shipping supplies and other practical services for residents and businesses throughout Peekskill, Cortlandt and the Tri-Villages.
But Jon sees the business as something broader than a list of services.
Shipping valuables, packing fragile items, notarizing important documents, or helping a small business get something important where it needs to go all require trust.
That is the kind of relationship he hopes to build with customers.
The Peekskill store is also the first step in a larger entrepreneurial plan. Jon’s long-term goal is to build a small portfolio of businesses in the region, with Qwik Pack & Ship Peekskill serving as the first location.
For now, though, the focus is straightforward:
Serve the community well.
Solve problems.
Make life a little easier.
